A Letter from Paul:
I have found that our welcome to people reveals much about us. It is that inclusiveness in our mission statement that beckons to welcome. Our call is to welcome one and all. In my opinion, we do a good job in this, but we can do better.
My son, Michael, in his second year of seminary, has a class this semester that has peaked my interest: “Pastoral Care within the LGBTQ community.” He has forwarded me the syllabus and the readings for the class and I plan to learn along side of him. I am so excited about the assignments and readings!
Providing a welcome, indeed, an extravagant welcome, to those so often shunned by society, is at the heart of our ministry here at DHC. That’s why it is in our mission statement!
I hope you can join me in our mission: To Live God’s grace, justice, and inclusiveness.
A new Lectionary Bible Study Class will be offered the 1st and 3rd Monday’s of the month. We will meet October 6th & 20th from 6:30 pm-7:30.
