Saying goodbye to a friend is never easy. I do that today. My friend, Rev. Bill Jacobs, is leaving as Pastor of First Christian Church, and is joining his wife to be Co-Pastor of a church in Oregon.
Bill has blessed First Christian for thirteen years, he has also blessed us at DHC. He provided the avenue for us to join other Disciple churches in the joint Ash Wednesday Service—which reconnected people who had been separated for twenty years. He also was pivotal in getting us into the Disciple regional camping program.
He also blessed me, by being a friend, a confidante, and an inspiration. He has been the best clergy support I’ve ever had in all my years of ministry. I will miss him terribly.
Blessing to you, my friend, on this day of transition. May God bless First Christian, your new church, your family, and you.
