What are “Real Questions” to you? “Real Questions” for me focus on how we can improve the world around us.
Theologian Henri Nouwen asks some real questions of people like you and me. I think they apply when we are at church but also at home, work, school, marketplace, etc. Let me suggest that you and I follow his lead and ask ourselves these questions on this holiday weekend:
- Did I offer peace”
- Did I bring a smile to someone’s face?
- Did I say words of healing?
- Did I let go of my anger and resentment?
- Did I forgive?
- Did I love?
Nouwen describes those as “Real Questions”. I agree! If you and I can strive toward being able to answer these positively with a “Yes!”, then our lives will be blessed.
