“When I was very young, most of my childhood heroes wore capes, flew through the air, or picked up buildings with one arm. They were spectacular and got a lot of attention. But as I grew, my heroes changed, so that now I can honestly say that anyone who does anything to help a child is a hero to me.” From The World According to Mister Rogers.
We are blessed, at DHC, to have many heroes. We have many of those people sharing with us today in leadership. I want to thank my sister, Laurel North, for giving the sermon. Laurel is a charter member of the church, having served as Treasurer, Sunday school teacher, Christian Ed Chair, Elder, and so many more things over the years. She is one of my heroes. Please give her your ear today.
It’s not too late to register for the S.W. Lay Academy, scholarships are available. We will be hosting this Conference Friday and Saturday, March 11 & 12.
You can still volunteer to help serve and/or clean up. Donations of water, and “finger” desserts are much appreciated. Please note: donations must be dropped off at the church office Friday morning between 9am & 12pm.
